<image:title>Home - Hi, I’m Tina!</image:title>
<image:caption>Thank you for being here! Life can be distressing to manage and cope with. Maybe you’re feeling stuck and unable to enjoy the seasons of your life. Do you feel you’re in a cycle of where joy feels elusive and hopelessness feels near? Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed, angry or simply numb. Maybe you carry the burden of not being able to talk about experiences because of feelings of shame and insecurity. In all of these experiences, you are not and do not have to be alone. I help eliminate stigma and barriers to mental health, believing anyone has the potential to benefit from counseling. I primarily work with adults and teens going through complex trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship & identity issues. As a Chinese-American female therapist, I recognize that the larger systems we’re a part of can affect our inner wellbeing, our peace. Currently, I am only providing teletherapy (online therapy) services for individuals in the state of Washington. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and I am excited (& hopeful) to co-create in this space with you!</image:caption>

<image:title>Services & Fees - therapy for adults</image:title>
<image:caption>Sometimes life gets overwhelming and we forget to take the time and rest. Whether it’s stress from work demands and projects, family, kids, relationships, transitions, therapy can be a helpful place to process and share how you really are doing and feeling. I see therapy as going with you through a dark room or place and shining a light on some things we encounter — with curiosity and compassion. I believe that my role is exploring with you, side by side, and guiding you towards different areas of the room that can be scary or painful to bring into the light. Perhaps it’s loneliness, lack of confidence, uncertainty and worries about the future, or complicated grief; you can bring those in and safely experience them. I have years of experience specifically working with folks who identify as AAPI and eliminating the ever so prevalent shame in personal struggles and pain.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services & Fees - THERAPY FOR TEENS & college (13+)</image:title>
<image:caption>Are you a parent and see your teen struggling with school, relationships with others, transitioning and adjusting to the pandemic? Are you a teen yourself and feel stressed all the time? Are you struggling with identity concerns, or trying to figure out who you are? Being a teenager is hard. There are numerous stressors that are now easily “in your face” and hard to take a break from. The recent pandemic has particularly caused a great increase in anxiety and depression in teens. Adjusting to online learning and then re-entering into in-person learning can be hard to transition from, there can be a lot of uncertainty and stress. I believe that we have a lot to learn from our youth today — they are navigating and learning so many new things that are important to their identity and values, to their emotional, social, mental and physical health. Engaging in therapy for your teens (or yourself!) allows for space to begin to feel and identity all the complex emotions and learn to express & cope with them without destructive behaviors. Whether you’re a teenager or a college-aged student, emotions can feel intense as you go through transitions and changes; it’s okay not to be okay. These years are impactful developmentally, so know that you’re not alone and there is help available to you!</image:caption>

<image:title>Services & Fees - TRAUMA INFORMED THERAPY</image:title>
<image:caption>Trauma focused/informed care is a specific approach to therapy that acknowledges and recognizes understanding how a traumatic experience impacts a person’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. It’s tailoring specific interventions and skills in the context of the person’s trauma history, triggers and needs. Trauma informed care is to provide safety & trust in the midst of the therapeutic space and relationship; allowing the client to make choices and decisions on what to work on and what to tread lightly on. It’s to offer skills and strategies in better understanding, coping with, and processing emotions and memories tied to trauma experiences. I have worked with folks who have experienced or witnessed complex trauma, sexual trauma/assault, and intergenerational trauma. Ultimately, we can hope to work towards incorporating these experiences to reclaim one’s identity and life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services & Fees - FAITH-BASED THERAPY</image:title>
<image:caption>Is faith and spirituality a part of your identity? Are you looking for someone who can intentionally integrate faith with psychology? As a believer in God, I recognize the importance of faith in the process of emotional and spiritual healing. It can be difficult to hold the tension in this world; beauty and pain, glory and loss, heartache and heart growth. Faith for many has been a refuge, a place where healing takes place, and I want to support that for you and with you. Whether you’re exploring your purpose and meaning, deconstructing harmful faith beliefs and practices, healing from religious trauma or feeling burnt out from ministry — there is freedom and power in taking the step to engage in the pain without losing hope. Although I identify as a believer in God, you are not required to hold/share my same beliefs. I aim to listen humbly and respect your own worldview and beliefs. I welcome folks of all faith backgrounds!</image:caption>

<image:title>About Tina - Hi, I’m tina! (she/her)</image:title>
<image:caption>Born & raised in New York City, I am a 2nd generation Chinese-American now living in the evergreen state of Washington! So much of who we are comes from diverse experiences and interactions. It’s valuable to recognize and know these identities you bring to the table, who your authentic self is and how they show up for others & yourself. With empathy, empowerment (& sometimes humor!), I hold space for clients to be fully seen, known and accepted. My hope is that through our work together, you can begin to access your strengths, develop new ones, & have ways to navigate every season of your life wholeheartedly. I focus on body-centered therapy that helps you reconnect and recognize parts of your body that may be stuck or feeling the emotions and stressors of the every day. In taking small (and meaningful) steps, progression is possible. It would my privilege to come alongside you on your healing path. I have over 7 years of experience working with folks going through transitions, trauma, suicidality, anxiety, relationship and identity issues — helping all within an empowering and holistic framework. I am a certified trauma professional specializing in sexual trauma survivors and complex trauma. I also have extensive experience working with those in crisis as well as those on the path of recovery. Additionally, I believe that integration of our faith with evidenced based research and practices is important in honoring our complexities and wonderfully made beings of ourselves. Through a better understanding of your world view and by integrating several different approaches, I collaboratively work with people towards healing and restoration.</image:caption>
