FAQs

  • Currently, I accept Premera/Lifewise insurance plans. For others, I am an out-of-network provider. Depending on your insurance plan, you may receive partial out-of-network (OON) reimbursement for my services. If so, I am happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance first!

    1. Does my policy reimburse for care given by an independently licensed therapist who is out of network? (LMHC)

    2. What is the reimbursement rate for mental health services?

    3. What is my deductible and has it been met?

    4. Where do I submit my superbills/invoices for my therapy sessions?

    5. How many outpatient mental health sessions will it cover per year?

  • Yes! I offer a limited number of sliding scale fee slots for folks who are unable to afford my standard rates and will be based on income. Priority for these slots will be given to those who identify with historically marginalized communities. You can always ask and contact me for more information!

  • Teletherapy is just another term for online therapy aka therapy online! Yes, right in the comfort of your own home or private space. This makes care very accessible. There are definitely benefits and downfalls to engaging in online therapy vs. in-person therapy. Since I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, it can be hard (or just slower) to establish trust and that relationship when it’s through screens. There can be technical difficulties to endure too, such as disconnection or lag. However, I do my best to connect and relate to you, even if it’s virtual.

Due to COVID-19 & safety reasons, I only provide telehealth services. This allows me to reach all folks throughout Washington State.

  • Once you have decided to work with me, you will be prompted to create an account with a therapy platform I use called TherapyNotes. This is a HIPAA secure platform. Acceptable forms of payment include cash/check, credit/debit card and HSA. Payment is due at the end of each session. You also have the option for autopay which charges your form of payment automatically after each session.

  • If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please let me know at least 24 hours before your session time. I am very flexible and responsive in my preferred communication methods, I understand that life situations can happen or we simply forget. I will work with you to coordinate what’s best on a case by case basis.

For late cancellations & no-shows (with no communication after I follow up), you may be charged for the full session fee.

  • LMHC stands for Licensed Mental Health Counselor. This means that the provider has completed MA level training and has completed at least 3000 hours of clinical work under supervision. This also means they have passed a clinical exam required for this credential as well. This allows providers to then work independently.

LMHCA stands for Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. This means that the provider has completed MA level training and am working on full independent licensure to practice without a designated supervisor.

LMFT stands for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. They have the same credentials and training as LMHC’s, except that they specifically are trained to help couples, systems and family members within their relationships.
